Terms of Use v2

Effective: August 12, 2026 · Governing law: United States

AliasMode is a free, open-source browser profile manager developed and operated by the Xreacher team. These terms govern your use of the AliasMode website, the AliasMode desktop application (“the app”), and the AliasMode Cloud synchronization service (“AliasMode Cloud”). By using AliasMode you agree to these terms, the Acceptable Use Policy, and the Privacy Notice.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use AliasMode. By using AliasMode you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that you are legally able to enter into these terms.

Local and Cloud

AliasMode offers two ways to work. Local mode requires no AliasMode account, sends no traffic to AliasMode Cloud, and keeps profile data on the computer that uses it. Cloud mode uses a verified email address and password, gives each account one workspace with owner and member roles, and synchronizes encrypted portable profiles with a local cache.

Product behavior can change as the service develops. Cloud features depend on an account, a workspace, and the current version of the product.

Open source and licenses

The AliasMode desktop client is released under the Apache-2.0 open-source license. You may inspect, use, and contribute to the desktop client in accordance with that license.

AliasMode launches CloakBrowser, a separately distributed browser runtime. CloakBrowser is not part of the Apache-2.0 desktop client and retains its own license. AliasMode Cloud is a managed service operated by the AliasMode project.

Accounts and Cloud

If you create a Cloud account you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for the activity that happens under your account. Each account has one workspace with owner and member roles. Owners can manage workspace access, revoke devices, and use trash for deleted profiles.

You are responsible for the profiles, content, and activity you bring to the product, including the lawful use of any accounts you manage with AliasMode.

Third-party services

AliasMode is a browser profile manager. When you use profiles to access websites, platforms, or services operated by others, you are responsible for complying with the terms of those services and with applicable law.

Donations

AliasMode is a non-profit project supported by optional donations. Donations are voluntary, do not unlock features, and do not create paid tiers. Donate only if you want to support the project.

Acceptable use

You must use AliasMode lawfully and responsibly. The Acceptable Use Policy lists prohibited uses and applies to the website, the app, and AliasMode Cloud.

Availability and changes

AliasMode is provided as free software and developing services. Features and behavior can change, and we may update these terms by publishing a new version. The version that applies to you is the one in effect when you use the product.

No warranty

AliasMode is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. You use the software and services at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the AliasMode project and the Xreacher team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of AliasMode.

Termination

You may stop using AliasMode at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to AliasMode Cloud if you violate these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where required by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in courts of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
