Windows installation

The Windows beta is unsigned, so SmartScreen can warn about unsigned or uncommon software.

  1. Open the GitHub release URL and check that it is under github.com/aliasmode/aliasmode.
  2. Verify the downloaded file against the published SHA-256 checksum.
  3. If Windows shows SmartScreen, select More info, then Run anyway only if you accept the risk and Windows offers that option.

Do not disable Windows protection. A checksum helps verify a downloaded file. It does not sign the app.
