AliasMode documentation
Set up profiles, proxies, Cloud, and automation.
Use these guides to move from installation to a working browser profile, then add proxy settings, Local API control, or Playwright automation.
Setup
Install AliasMode and open your first profile.
Install AliasMode and CloakBrowser, choose Cloud or Local mode, create a browser profile, and open your first isolated session.
Open →DocsCloakBrowserInstall the CloakBrowser runtime AliasMode includes at no extra cost to open persistent browser profiles on Windows, and review its bot-detection test results.
Open →DocsmacOS from sourceBuild the AliasMode dashboard on macOS with Bun, run the local runtime from source, and review how a source run differs from the packaged Windows installer.

Open →DocsPlaywrightStart an AliasMode profile through the Local API and attach Playwright to its persistent browser session over CDP.
Open →DocsTroubleshootingFix common AliasMode installation, CloakBrowser, proxy, Local API, profile-opening, and Cloud synchronization problems.
Open →Start with a working profile
Install the Windows desktop client and CloakBrowser. Choose Cloud or Local, create a profile, confirm its settings, and open the browser.
Connect Claude or ChatGPT
Cloud mode gives one Windows installation a pinned remote MCP URL. Add that URL to Claude or ChatGPT, sign in to AliasMode, and use Playwright tools in the selected profile.
Configure the workflow
Learn what a profile stores, assign an HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS5 proxy, and organize repeatable profile groups.
Connect internal tools
Use the supported Local API subset for profile and browser control. Attach Playwright to a started browser over CDP.
